What comes to your mind when you come across the word ‘’liberation’’?

Maybe something like a spiritual awakening or Nirvana.

Well, to tell you the truth, until few moments earlier I believed the same but then after analyzing my own life till now I realized, what an act of liberation has been for me.

Lemme share it with you as well :)

To me, liberation is not just something that only few people ultimately receive in the end. But it is something we all constantly seek and receive in every aspect of our lives, through our conscious efforts in the right direction which leads to the one that we have generally heard of ‘Nirvana’.

In life, there are situations which you thought you will never be able to come out of finally, there are habits which are disturbing and you thought you will never be able to permanently change them, there are your weaknesses, your fears which you thought you will never be able to conquer, there are risks you never thought you would take and you would come out with flying colors pretty safely, but you did! so did I! so does everyone! and that my friend is “liberation” taking place in every aspect of our lives, in every phase of life, in every battle that we take part in and fight consciously.

Ravana, the very famous character from Ramayana, and indeed a great scholar with many accomplishments, teaches us about the ten very basic yet the most important things in our life that we need to get liberated(Mukti) from and those are:

Kama (lust)

Krodha (anger)

Moha (delusion)

Lobha (greed)

Mada (pride)

Maatsyasya (envy)

Manas (mind)

Buddhi (intellect)

Chitta (will)

Ahamkara ( the ego)

(P.S.- The symbolism may vary as per different links on the google’s web page :p but they are mostly the actual ones ;))

And these are all that we need to receive liberation from, slowly and at every step :)
